My Mother’s Day flowers were more expensive than anyone else!

So this is how it happened….

We are rural and the kids are bush babies so Mr MPIO and I negotiated that the kids would be taken out to pick wild flowers for Mother’s Day.

This would allow me to lie in, and indulge in flipping through the previous day’s newspapers and my recently arrived Country Style Magazine.

They returned pleased with their booty, but covered in blood from the leeches that had taken residence on each leg while there were pre-occupied.

Walking in, bleeding all over my tiles they removed leeches and washed off. Band-Aids were applied (commonly known in our house as fix’em alls).

We had a lovely gourmet breakfast (at this point I thought it would last me the rest of the week), and I decided we should go on a little drive.

Whilst turning onto the highway there was a little white van selling flowers.

Chrysanthemums for $10.00 per bunch.

I said: “Boy, that is quite cheap”

Mr MPIO: “Yes it is, but the flowers you got were much more expensive”

Me (somewhat puzzled): “How do you figure that?”

Mr MPIO: “Well your flowers must have cost at least a litre of blood!”

I love my husband…he makes me laugh constantly! Not to forget the kids contribution!
